This a a gorgeously produced and presented podcast. It is easy to listen to, while based on academic rigour. I have enjoyed every episode. However the episode on the Khmer was superb. This podcast blends sources and overview seamlessly. You get immersed in the time period he’s discussing in a way that few other history podcasts can pull off. These kindof “fall of civilization” narratives are pretty conservative and really favor elite perspectives. Pretty telling this guy is a literary historian , would not fly in like basic Anthro 101 class
