“I really enjoy this podcast, it has the feel of a fun book club.
Pros: The hosts strike a great balance between not taking themselves too seriously and analyzing not only individual books but trends and history of the genre. I enjoy their banter and get great recommendations
Cons: Questionable editing- sometimes the background music nearly drowns out their speaking. Plus weird radio show-style sound effects were added often in earlier episodes.
Additionally, I think the hosts are excellent at discussing books but they aren’t skilled interviewers. Questions to guests aren’t particularly open ended and seem like they expect a certain answer. Doesn’t lead to organic conversations with the guest”
