I grew up as a child of the 80s and AIDS was everywhere but your report gave me a whole new insight into the history of how it was treated and actions taken or lack of. Looking forward to the next topic.

Just finished season 5 and wow I didn’t realise a podcast could reduce me to tears whilst also education me. 10/10

The series is in itself very well made, high quality in every aspect. But for me, as a European it is to US centric, like AIDS existed only in the US.

I’m going back in a few weeks to see what I have on the calendar for next year but I’m sure you will

Just listen to it So many podcasts now are such drivel and gossip. This series will not let you down Professional, entertaining and very informative A lot of the homophobic rhetoric of the 80s sounds shockingly familiar to the transphobia of today Well done 👏

I enjoyed learning about this subject now that more is known about AIDS/HIV. The narrator has a pleasant voice and tone~ just seems a bit biased towards the left. And WAY too easy on Fauci and his missteps with this disease. He is responsible for much of the delays in acting - very sad.

Well-researched and moving, this podcast fills in knowledge gaps in the history of “the other” pandemic, and how it affected and devastated so many lives.

The extremely important story of AIDS in American is given the dignity it deserves with incredible research and storytelling at its finest. A must-listen — I cannot recommend more highly

I was a big fan of Slow Burn. I’ve listened to the first three episodes of Season 5 (AIDS crisis), all of which have been excellent. I also really enjoyed Season 2 (Iran-Contra). However. I stopped listening about halfway through the first episode of Season 1 (Bush v Gore) because the narrator...Read full review »

There hasn’t been a new episode in 3 weeks. Help!! 😆

This has been the most informative thing about the 2000 election I have come across so far. Loved every episode!

The reporting style is a breath of fresh air.

But voter suppression is barely mentioned. These episodes are interesting but this podcast spends little time on the large effect of Florida’s racist laws and Republicans’ use of them for power. Just remember that as you listen.

This is the first Presidential Election I voted in so I remember it well. The podcast does an excellent job of recreating that era and all the dynamics that were at play. You also get to hear current interviews from the people that were involved and old news clips that really bring the time...Read full review »

Obviously produced from a pro gore pro democratic perspective but gives enough information that you can draw your own conclusions about the whole affair. Interesting and well produced

Well told, interesting podcast

So relevant for what is ongoing in this 2020 election. Those outside of South Florida are still bewildered by the Trump support in Miami-Dade. This podcast gives context as to why.

I usually don’t leave Apple reviews but man this one deserves. So well done. It honestly feels like you are there... paints a perfect picture of what went down.

I didn’t expect that you’d upload only a partial season without letting people know. It’s a very interesting subject and I feel like you should have made the limited episodes part more clear at the beginning in ITunes so people know what they’re starting. You refer to it as “Season 1” but it...Read full review »

Love the straightforward but compelling way this history is presented. Appreciate that the narrators just...narrate, without needing to do a bunch of dumb jokes or something. A new angle on a historical event I thought I knew.

Even listening to this podcast now, I somehow give myself hope that the election will turn out differently. Leon does a great job of diving into the details of the Florida recount and recreating the tension of those 36 days. My only criticism would be that a larger macro view of the race would...Read full review »

Disappointingly it heads straight for the weeds. The Gonzalez kid and some planned airbase. Sure, they may have influenced Florida voters but it’s not worth 45 minutes of airtime imo. Also, start with the drama. Start with election night and the bitter fight. Pull me in. Then explain all the...Read full review »

A tremendous show about an election that is more bizarre and corrupt than almost anyone remembers. The story is captivating, and the podcast features interviews with a wide range of firsthand participants: Justice John Paul Stevens, Florida Sec of State Katherine Harris, and dozens of others.

One of my favorite podcasts covering the story of US president election. It’s super-exciting even if you are not too much into US history, you can just enjoy the fascinating narration.

This is an amazing listen that keeps the promise of making the listener feel like they are watching events unfold in real time. I listened to this when it was released and will likely listen again now that it’s public.

This show is so good! And surprising! I never knew that environmentalists and Cubans swung the election. You’ll get it if you listen

I grew up with this story and remember the confusing newspaper headlines in India back when this happened. Leon’s approach to the story provided the perfect backdrop to process exactly how it transpired and the little dominoes that fell along the way, which for me as a school kid in a different...Read full review »
