General thoughtsSpoilers: Biggest/best momentsWhat is this movie about?Garland can be kind of a prickly interview subject. I interviewed him several years ago for Annihilation and he was somewhat intimidating, but I think Jacob had a really good conversation with him and there are some really good observations and anecdotes in it that I’ll be thinking about for a while.Alex Garland interview

Better and Better

My number 1 horror pod cast. The hosts are really starting to gel!

Getting back to normal

I’ve been listening to this podcast since their hay days in the beginning. I LOVED the original group that had formed to its peak right before the pandemic. Understandably, after the pandemic it fell apart. Things happen. But as the entertainment world opened back up,the /Film podcast did not. Peter became obsessed with creating content and, how to make, and who made, the most money in Hollywood. Since he’s retired to do what he’s really into, the podcast is coming back around. Some of the regulars are coming back and the obsession with box office results is receding. I wish they could do more podcasts throughout the week again, I really do enjoy what they have. Ben is a great host and crazy right-wing conspiracy theorist probably don’t even listen to this show.

Pure drivel

There was a time slashfilm was a solid site for movie news. Then it got sold to a large company and now runs listicles and pointless articles about things the writers read on other sites. This show is the audio version of that. I’d rather hit myself repeatedly in the crotch with a sharp stick than have to listen to this again.
