Usually love, but concerns with Ashley Stahl episode
Normally I love this podcast and listen to it while I work, but I had some concerns pop up while listening to the most recent episode with Ashley Stahl. It may be blunt…but she sounded like a spiritual conspiracy theorist. A lot of her rhetoric was really ableist, specifically in her discussion of feeling happy and sad and how “we need all of these emotions.” It felt very much like “if you want to be successful, just do it!” She had little, if anything, to say about the institutional roadblocks that people face in “turning their life around.” In my opinion, she was tone deaf and privileged. All of this “getting into your body’s intuition” just sounded like a White person who’s just been “enlightened” and has nothing of actual substance to say. Tori, I love your podcast, but this episode just wasn’t it.
