Babies vs Bar Crawls: How to Maintain Friendships in Different Life Stages

Babies vs Bar Crawls: How to Maintain Friendships in Different Life Stages

In the penultimate episode of Fingers Crossed, Sierra & Kristee discuss a relevant topic that is on the minds of many mid-twenty somethings: maintaining friendships in different life stages.  What do you do when three of your friends are married with babies and you're just re-entering the dating scene? What if you're busy in a 9-5 career and your friends are all working part time with tons of free time? Do you settle down? Buy a house? Work hard for that career promotion? Run away and work on a boat in Australia? Your 20s can make it really hard to relate to your friends sometimes, but the gals of Fingers Crossed are here to help.

You're Cooler Than You Think: How to Grow Your Identity Capital & Invest In Yourself

You're Cooler Than You Think: How to Grow Your Identity Capital & Invest In Yourself

In today's episode of Fingers Crossed, Kristee and Sierra discuss the concept of Identity Capital. Originally brought to their attention by Meg Jay in The Defining Decade, Identity Capital is the concept that one's unique talents, experiences, achievements and background create a personal portfolio that makes one a valuable and well-rounded individual inside & outside the workplace.

Your twenties are guided by how heavily you invest in your identity capital—and it is always worth the time to invest in yourself. Join K&S as they share listener stories, article tidbits, and their own personal experiences about building their identity capital and personal resumé.

Love the show and Sierra you’re doing great!

I have been watching Kristee’s channel on YT since I was in high school. I’m about a year younger than her so she was always going through major life milestones right before me and I really enjoyed watching her journey. So when I learned that she and Sierra would be starting a podcast about lessons learned in their twenties I was SO on board. I’ve listened to every episode and have loved getting to know Sierra better and hearing about how their different experiences and personalities shape their perspective and approach to life in their twenties so far!

I had to come to Apple from spotify to leave a review (1) because I love and want to support the show and (2) I’ve started to recognize my own habits in the way Sierra speaks on the show and I just wanted to provide her with some reassurance that she is doing GREAT and everything you say is valuable! Oftentimes I’ve noticed that she hurries to finish a story or apologizes about speaking too long about something or she just in general sounds like she feels pressure to say things perfectly especially in the intro/outro of the show. It’s clear that Kristee has more experience talking openly online as herself whereas Sierra may be used to having a role to play or a script, but I think both have super interesting stories and perspectives and Sierra shouldn’t feel the need to edit herself for the show even if it’s being done subconsciously! I do this a lot myself and have had someone recently tell me that it’s okay to slow down and pause when speaking to an audience! It’s something I’m working on as well.

Anyways just wanted to say love the show and Sierra you’re doing AMAZING SWEETIE! ❤️

Kristee is the queen of run on sentences. Just when you think she’s done wrapping up a thought, she continues. Take a drink every time she says exactly and bla bla bla.

I came all the way from Spotify to say I cannot recommend Fingers Crossed enough!

This is genuinely the most relatable podcast I’ve ever listened to, and I look forward to every Tuesday when it releases. Kristee and Sierra are hilarious, honest, and real. I feel like I’m having girl chat with them. They ALWAYS seem to be talking about topics at the exact time I need them, and offer great perspectives.
