Being told to "continue what you did prior" or "stick to yoga" is outdated and poor advice for all mamas, but especially those who have have a passion and drive for exercise and competition.

Pregnancy Loss And Options For Care

Pregnancy Loss And Options For Care

Welcome to another episode of Food, Freedom, and Fertility. Host Caitlin Johnson and Sophia Pavia speak with Allison Tartari.
Allison found her way to midwifery care through the pregnancy and birth of her fourth child. She knew she wanted to help support women during pregnancy, and avoid the unnecessary interventions she encountered with her other children. She became passionate about educating families on other, safer options for birth. She became a D.O.N.A trained doula and followed that path for 8 years, attending many births in and out of the hospital setting.
It became clear to her that most people are not aware that they have rights, that they can say “No” to a doctor or nurse. She had to share this knowledge and decided to become a midwife. She applied and was accepted to the Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery in 2014.
During her doula career and experience as a student midwife she learned that consistency in care provides better outcomes, which is a major component our system is lacking. Out of this passion for holistic, integrative healthcare Tourmaline Birth and Wellness Center was born.
Caitlin, Sophia and Allison speak about the hard topics that come with infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth and more.
This episode is a tough one but is still important to hear if you are navigating through infertility, have had a miscarriage or want to gain information about this subject.

Biggest fan

My most listened to podcast of 2023/2024. Not only did this podcast help me when trying to conceive, but it started my journey into exploring functional nutrition. As a fellow RD I appreciate the wealth of information they are sharing with the world. This is so so needed! Listening to Sophia and Caitlin is entertaining and informative - I feel like I’m having a chat with my girlfriends. Love this show so much.

Sophia stop interrupting everyone!!!!

I love this podcast but it’s so annoying when Sophia constantly interrupts her cohost and especially her guests! It makes me so uncomfortable to listen to that and she comes across as arrogant and rude which is awkward. It is very distracting too. I love Caitlin and feel bad for her (and their guests) because Sophia is always interrupting her. Sophia hopefully you can take this piece of constructive criticism and improve the podcast by cutting out the interruptions. Everything else about this podcast is great! Well except all the Jesus talk haha! Super knowledgeable hosts and good content.

Minus one star for Sophia cutting off her cohost and guests and for having to skip through all the Jesus talk but that’s my problem, it’s their podcast and they can praise the Lawd all they want. I simply personally do not like it and choose to skip through those parts which is a bit annoying but that’s their prerogative!

The best podcast for TTC

Food Freedom Fertility has been such a resource while working through infertility challenges. I love how Caitlin and Sophia talk to you like a friend and make such a tough, nuanced topic manageable. I feel like I always walk away learning something new and understanding what steps I can take next.
