“what can i say? this podcast does it all. Nick and Jason are childhood friends and their delightful friendship (the way they call each other ‘babe’ is so very endearing) is what makes every episode magic. they don’t take themselves seriously, but they take every single one of the women they honor on each episode extremely seriously. it’s both irreverent and deeply reverent. it’s alternately hilariously quippy and deeply heartfelt. i listened to the Aretha episode the day after the first of two mass shootings in the USA and it was a balm for my raw, aching soul. their episode about POMS! made me giggle so much i thought i was going to need adult diapers. some of their guests are incredible. LaToya Morgan educating us all about Bette Davis, Michael Cyril Creighton getting beautifully vulnerable about his lifelong connection to Madeline Kahn, and Thomas Jay Ryan speaking about Barbra Streisand with such deep respect in his voice — they’re all must-listen episodes. i have learned so much about these incredible women and, in between listens, done some pondering about why we grow up loving these women the way that we do. it’s a deep dive into why performances matter to us and how these women changed our lives. this podcast is guaranteed to make you laugh and fall in love with Nick and Jason (i definitely have) but it will also speak to your heart and to the tender part of your soul that saw yourself in any diva growing up — that identified with the vulnerability they were brave enough to show us all, and also with the strength and power and beauty that maybe we didn’t see in ourselves yet but that we longed to see someday. this is an earnest and beautiful and sassy and ridiculous podcast. LISTEN TO IT IF YOU LOVE WOMEN! LISTEN TO IT IF YOU LOVE LAUGHING AND CRYING AND WORSHIPPING QUEENS!!!!!! JUST LISTEN TO IT, PEOPLE!!!!”
