Good interviews, podcast editing needs to be sharpened
Interviews are great, usually interesting subjects and deep dives into their lives and work. One peeve: this is a podcast, not a radio hour, and it should be edited down to reflect that. After every commercial break, ten, twenty, thirty minutes in, we get: “If you’re just joining us, my guest is John Smith. Smith directed the 2020 film blah blah blah”. No one is “just joining” thirty minutes into a podcast. There is no audience that needs to be reminded over and over again who the interviewee is and what they wrote/directed/accomplished. Tighten up the transitions, don’t just replay the radio show.
