Amazing but with Apple technical difficulties
I love this show. Truly. What I don’t love is how Apple kind of screws me into missing out. On a regular basis the app deletes episodes I haven’t listened to yet. If you’re a fan of the show, you know that sometimes the subject matter can get a little heavy. As with most people, I can’t listen to the heavy stuff in some situations. For example, I can’t listen to something that might make me cry or laugh out loud while I’m at work. So I save those shows for times when I’m not surrounded by coworkers, supervisors, and subordinates. And yet when I have the time to listen to those episodes, they have disappeared. I’m not an idiot; I know how to use to various features within the app. None of the auto-delete features are turned on. I haven’t changed my settings for this show in years and this only started happening about a year ago. I work 60 hours a week and I care for an aging and disabled parent, but in my vast amount of spare time I’ll dig through NPR’s archives to try to find what I’ve missed. 🙄

I have always admired the way Terry Gross is able to imagine her way into the life of each person she interviews. She not only asks the questions I want most to hear, but she also always finds a way to ask that provocative, incisive question that allows the truth of the person to be heard.Read full review »
