    Episode 11: Mrs. Onassis

    Episode 11: Mrs. Onassis

After yet another tragic loss, Jackie was ready to live life on her own terms. She was through with shouldering the burden of living as others thought she should— of leading a life that they, and not she, deemed suitable. She knew what she wanted to do.

    Episode 10: Shattered Again

As 1967 wound down, Jackie remained wildly popular with the American public, and seemed to be enjoying herself— and why not? The assassination was now four years in the rear view mirror and she was in a new relationship. She was happy and life was good... but not for long.

Episode 9: A Brush With Death

Episode 9: A Brush With Death

By 1966, Jackie wasn’t ON the A-list— she WAS the A-list. But it wasn’t all fun and games: between public scandal over “The Death of a President” and shifting national priorities during the Vietnam War, Jackie became more of a tabloid celebrity than an immaculate national icon. But that didn’t stop her from having fun— maybe even too much.

    Episode 8: The Lioness

    Episode 8: The Lioness

Writing The Death of a President had been exhausting and heartbreaking. When he was finished, author William Manchester thought his troubles were over. In fact, they were only just beginning. And for Jackie, the book’s looming publication would bring new troubles... and the first dent in her once untouchable image.

    Episode 7: Jackie Emerges

    Episode 7: Jackie Emerges

Jackie’s priorities in the mid-1960s were often in conflict: she yearned to move on from her once-Presidential life, but had a duty to memorialize and honor her husband. Still only in her mid-30s, culture was changing all around Jackie, and inspired her to continue to break free of her own past in her own way.

America’s Favorite First Lady

I’ve been reading books about Jacqueline Kennedy since I was in the fifth grade. There is always something new and interesting to learn about her life as she was a First Lady, a glamorous world traveler, a fierce mother, and a well-respected book editor. Paul Brandus is on to something here as younger generations can be invited in through this podcast to learn about one of our nation’s greatest national treasures, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Highly, highly recommend!

Amazing podcast - love these stories

This is one of the best podcasts ever - so well written and the use of sound is perfect. It takes you back to those days. I feel like a fly on the wall watching Jackie get on with her life. Five stars. Will order the book.
