Went from relatable to draining
I’m all for holding space, let me just preface. I’m a counselor in training and a current preschool teacher. I hold space all day. That being said, Rachel’s incessant recounting of less than desirable occurrences in her life is difficult to listen to. Podcasts are an educational or entertaining platform. Her podcast used to be SO relatable. I was a die hard fan, like wake up early excited on Friday mornings to listen in. And now I shut them off after 5 minutes of listening to her say how hard whatever it is that she’s moving through is. It’s not relatable anymore. There’s no lesson to learn at the end. It’s more like “ugh thank you guys for listening, here’s to feeling our feelings!” without any wisdom or resolution. It’s ok to not have the answers. But I would suggest saving these long winded explanations on why you feel so terrible for therapy or intimate conversations. That’s not for sharing on podcasts with millions of strangers.

More reviews of From the Heart with Rachel Brathen
Life is beautiful, and I can't wait to hear more from the heart. - I can tell already how genuine this podcast will be from the first episode. Her tears brought me tears. Looking forward to more insight of Rachel Brathen's life and all that is to come.

I cried at the end! I could identify with her honesty so much. Listening to her birth story inspired me to finally sit down and write my natural birth story down for my 6-month old son. Rachel's story is very empowering for any expectant mama to listen to.Read full review »
