“They say ‘opposite’s attract’ not entirely sure that works on all cases, but in this engagement, it did & what I liked was the respect shown for a politician of great integrity, wisdom & stature & I praise James for the space he offered that allowed Lord Heseltine to feel comfortable enough to share great anecdotes and pieces of history, much of which I lived through re Westland & failed leadership bid.
My only criticism was that it wasn’t longer. I met James a while back impromptu in a coffee bar & praised him for ‘these’ podcasts, and he asked me who I’d like on it ? / I answered Paul Merton who is an incredibly funny man, but also appears to be a complex character, but had I given my answer more time, Lord Heseltine May well have been an answer. Thank you for some wonderful insightful interviews....
PS : One doesn’t have to share James’s political views to find these very entertaining.... He parks up his views for these which is one reason they work.”
