“Josh Rossi is a great photographer and he has a lot of practical advice for the emerging photog. This podcast is a true gem… in concept.
To be sure, the information discussed is invaluable. He interviews a wide variety of professionals involved in the field of professional photography. Whether it's wedding, still life or fashion photogs or even agents, appraisers, and retouchers there is something for any and every photographer.
However, while it is wonderful that Mr Rossi is willing to share his expertise with us, he tends to do so when the interviewee should be speaking. He doesn’t seem to understand that the interviewER should restrain himself from offering lengthy opinions and focus on asking questions. It detracts from the conversation when he takes it upon himself to re-explain what his interviewee has already adequately explained. It’s insulting to both the interviewee and the listener.
One other improvement that could be made is the transitions from one topic to the next. It is most often marked by an insincere 'I love that' or 'that’s awesome’ followed by an abrupt unrelated question making the conversation feel rushed and unappreciated.
If Mr Rossi could develop his news anchor skills he will have a top quality podcast.”
