“It's amazing this podcast is free, and I'm glad I found it.
In the episode "What It Was Like To Work With Prince", I appreciate that Anil (host) describes his relation to the music from Prince - how he first listened to it, and the difficulties in one of the early methods to get the music - and then has actual people that worked with Prince describe their story - it's almost like a mini documentary. The episode describes how, in the early days of the internet, Prince and his team came up with what could be considered the first music download/ streaming method (probably one of the most interesting history tidbits I've heard recently).
I like how the talk isn't monotone, but has funny and interesting moments, and can describe things I never knew I was interested in. Listening to this episode was (almost) like I was in the room and part of the recording of this podcast.
Possibly a good glimpse into the quality of this podcast is this segment from this episode:
"I think everybody's question for anybody that ever got to collaborate or work with him is like 'what was that moment of you two sitting in Paisley Park or in some ... studio somewhere where you had that conversation and got a glimpse into the creative where ... you're at the table with this legend and you're doing this work together, what's the moment that stands out, that's like a story that you ... tell your family ... 'this is what I got to do'?'" (Hopefully I typed that write...never knew I'd use half speed playback😄).
For those interested in quality conversations about interesting topics, based on this episode, this is probably one of the best podcasts.
For Prince fans, there might not be a better documentary (especially not this short).
Cool stuff.”Read full review »
