“This is the first time I’ve ever listened to a podcast and took notes. You all shared so much useful wisdom on your forgiveness podcast- which is very on time for me personally. I appreciate the meaningful & vulnerable conversation you all shared with us. As a newer Christian (almost 2 years in), I try to find younger Christians that know more about God & His goodness than I do, because it’s easier to relate to. I look forward to hearing more conversations you guys have!
Key notes I took away from your episode on Forgiveness:
- forgiveness is for us even if we don’t always deserve it
- release their role in the stress of your life so you’re no longer bound
- no forgiveness = no room to give or receive
- there is relief in release
- if you don’t forgive, they won’t be able to release the weight they’re carrying around too
- genuine apology allows shame to be released
- forgive but set boundaries (unfortunately we aren’t like God where He has no record of wrongdoing, Isaiah 43:25)
- forgiveness speaks to humility, a reminder that we aren’t God
- not our place to hold someone against a certain standard
- forgiveness keeps us with the love & compassion Jesus walked with
- unforgiveness holds us back from what God is trying to bring us in”
