IMMENSE love for Ghibli, but just cannot connect with this podcast.
I have an immense love for Ghibli films. Yet, while wading through most of the Ghibliotheque episodes, I struggled to connect emotionally and intellectually with this podcast. While mine is only one experience, too often I found frustration and disappointment with the opinions and direction of the two hosts. There is so, so, so much to discuss about the layered themes and stories presented by Ghibli, yet the podcast conversations too often dawdled at the surface, missing the depths of meaning and convictions that I connect with and am so strongly compelled to rejoice and celebrate. Also, no effort was made to learn and use respectful pronunciation of names.
