In most interviews the host guides the guest over the history of their career step by step, with occasional digressions and reminiscences. This is a show where the digressions are the main feature. The guest list is as surprising as the stories - where else can you hear Larry Storch, Joe Franklin, Dick Cavett and their like talk uninterrupted for an hour or more?
