A lot of us say the wrong things during the grieving period even when we mean well. Yet, not enough people are speaking about grief. Not enough people take the time to grieve properly and openly. There’s still so much stigma and shame around grief.

We’re told we can’t grieve for too long and you should accept and move on quickly etc ☹️😕🙁

At Grief Angels Podcast, we show up for our grief, we make time for it and we embrace it. As painful as it might be, we show up. We heal together. We demystify grief.

Let’s get better at grief.

Am I an adult orphan? Things they don't tell you losing both parents as an adult!

Can you be an adult orphan? Is there an age limit to being an orphan.

Google's definition of an orphan is a child deprived by death of one or usually both parents, but what if you lose your folks as a young adult or other. What becomes of sibling relationships without the glue that held them together? What about losing your childhood home which now just feels like an empty house?

We sit with Muthoni Muchai @the_boardroom_of_life, to discuss the realities of losing both parents and navigating life without them.

Let us know in the comments if any of this resonates with you and if you are already putting these tips to use.

Coping with grief during the Holidays - A GRIEFY CHRISTMAS

Coping with grief during the Holidays - A GRIEFY CHRISTMAS

The holidays can be quite tough for those of us who are grieving. It can be a very lonely time and also very triggering.

Normal day to day life can be a good distraction from the loneliness of grief. But during the festive period/holidays, everyone retreats to family and friends. The holidays are yet another stark reminder that there is an empty seat at the table.

Then there is the bag of emotions. Each emotion is seemingly amplified. You might feel sad because your loved one is gone, then anger because why are they gone, why did they have to die. Or you might feel guilt at having a good time while your loved one is gone, because why should you be having fun while they're gone.

In this episode, we seat with Martin Maina (Babja), my oldest friend of 30years, to navigate grieving during the holidays. We also share tips that have worked for us on how to get through the holidays and finally share some tips on how you can show up for your grieving friend during the holidays.

As always, let us know if you relate to any of the things mentioned. We are happy to hear your tips too on how you get through the holidays.

Time heals all wounds. Does it though?

Time heals all wounds. Does it though?

People like to say that time heals all wounds when it comes to grieving.  Is this something people just say? or is it actually true?

We sat down with Rita Njeri Njuguna, the gratitude babe, to discuss her own grief journey and understand whether one can truly say that their wounds have been completely healed after a certain number of years.

Does the grief disappear or does it simply evolve?  We also discuss going through life and hitting various milestones without your loved ones.   Let us know in the comment section whether you resonate with any of this. We'd love to hear from you.  #grief #griefjourney #grieving #loss #movingforward #showupforyourself
