“Whenever you're invitted to hear what turns people on musically, it gives you entree into a better understanding of that person. Sure, longer song snippets would be welcome, but I'd also like to have the guests more prepared to explain what these songs mean to them. Some guests are preparted and go deep, but others just seem to rattle off a quick list of five from the past 2-3 years, or a list of standards that don't give the audience any real understanding of their feelings for the song.”
