Eva Proudman FIT has over 20 years in the hair loss industry and now has a very busy schedule, with clinics in Harley Street, Warwickshire, Hertfordshire, Staffordshire & Hampshire where she sees over 250 patients a month!
On top of this she works in product development, mentorship and consultancy.

After being involved in a car accident at 32, she medically retired and had to have her spine fused so she couldn't work. She ended up buying out the company and developing the hair in recovery programme.

She then had bariatric surgery for diabetes, which led to her losing over 50% of her hair. This propelled her to develop her own award winning supplements, gaining data from over 700 patients, where she has seen good results.

She was also involved in the making of the TV series 'The Hair Loss Clinic', and has influenced many people to the point that they have now signed up to the Institute of Trichology themselves to study!

What are JAK inhibitors & how can they be used to treat Alopecia Areata?

Dr Jemma Boyle has has alopecia since she was 10 years old, which began as small bald patches which she says could be easily hidden. By her late teens, it began to get worse & more obvious. At the age of 30, she first lost all of her hair. This then grew back, then she lost it again.

She is a Doctor who specialises in breast surgery & cancer research, who has been using JAK inhibitors to treat her own condition.

Dr Boyle shares how losing her hair caused her to stop & put more time into looking after herself better; she began running, journaling, eating better and even stopped drinking alcohol for a year. She is one of only 10% of those with alopecia areata who has experienced spontaneous regrowth after losing all their hair.

The JAK inhibitor Ritlecitinib has recently been approved on the NHS, and Jemma describes how it works, and how it can be used to treat hair loss.

    The facts about scalp cooling

    The facts about scalp cooling

    The facts about scalp cooling

Claire Paxman, the brand ambassador & Director of global education for Paxman scalp cooling, the global leader in scalp cooling.

Claire shares how it was her Mum having breast cancer in the 90's that first made her aware of scalp cooling, when she tried the cold cap. Her Mum went on to lose her battle with cancer at just 44. She was 14 when she had to shave all her Mum's hair off, which was a devastating experience for her.

Her Grandfather invented the first ice bank cooler for beer, and they began to use their knowledge of cooling systems to develop a better scalp cooling system which is a medical device.

Vasoconstriction can have a great effect on how much hair is lost during chemotherapy treatment, and also how fast it will grow back.

Claire shares how knowledge & education around the use of the cold cap is vital, and is working hard to ensure that the correct information is given and available to hospitals and patients.

Dr Jonathan Palmer has a PHD from Imperial College and works in Biotechnology. He has worked for cancer research and blood testing, and has now founded Hair Knowhow.

Dr Palmer describes himself as an experimentalist, who has been passionate about science since he got his first telescope at 7 years old.
He uses tests designed for product development, producing results for people who want to know about their hair health.

These hair tests produce impartial, data led diagnoses, which Jonathan describes as a branch of personal medicine.

Hair knowhow can test the hair in depth biochemically, inside & out. They can measure protein loss, porosity, lustre and the extent of physical or chemical damage.
Their aim is to help people be able to make choices on products & practices that can better look after their hair.

They can work with trichologists to enable them to provide a fully comprehensive hair analysis.
