Would love to see this podcast level up to some good recording equipment. Can be hard to hear the truly interesting content!

Worthwhile and mostly successful effort to explore a variety of serious ideas that usually are dismissed outright without being listened to.

I’m very fond of Heterodox Academy, but this podcast is disappointingly lackluster. The host, Chris Martin, doesn’t engage the guest (let alone the listener) and is very robotic as he moves between topics. The idea of HxA is to bring together people who have different perspectives and have them...Read full review »

They do a good job exploring the world of confirmation bias and the role it has driving sociology and policy solutions. It’s balanced, but probably more irritating for orthodox left thinkers because they are accustomed to believing that they have rational bases for their bias. Industry sponsored...Read full review »

I deeply respect Haidt’s work and the idea behind Heterodox Academy but the execution of the podcast is disappointing somehow. I understand the effort to maintain a tone of disinterested scholarly investigation, but too often the viewpoints of guests are not really challenged and their...Read full review »

I love that I found a safe place where some of the opinions I have are shared by the interviewees, which makes me feel like I’m not a bad person. Thanks so much to Chris. I love how well he listens and that he makes me feel like I can be myself and am still deserving of love.

Chris is a really good intereviewer—he listens carefully and has a good sense of when to ask his interviewees to step back and explain something in more detail for a listener. That's especially helpful for someone (like me) without a strong science background. A lot of really different...Read full review »

I tend to lean liberal, but listening to this podcast helps me to understand where my conservative friends are coming from when we are discussing things. I really value listening to a lot of different perspectives so that I can better form my worldview, and this podcast gives me many perspectives.

I can’t go one episode without hearing the ideological university bubble undergirding every argument. Amazing that the host and guests can’t recognize and call themselves on their own naked biases. This is my weekly dose of shallow thinking and poor reasoning with a splash of research peppered...Read full review »

Half Hour of Heterodoxy provides a refreshing dialogue on the ideological issues and social science research most relevant to the current political and academic climate. Chris interviews guests from wide-ranging backgrounds to provide a thoughtful examination of some of our most pressing social...Read full review »

Audio can be improved but thank you so much for helping me discover all these heterodox academics! As a graduate student with unorthodox opinions, this makes me feel much better going into academia!

Heterdox Academy is affirmative action for conservatives. Their worldview is increasingly rejected so they are now resorting to demanding they be represented on campus. If you like podcasts scapegoating leftists and insisting that conservatives be allowed a platform whenever and wherever they...Read full review »

This podcast is obviously on the nerdier side but it adds such value and perspective to diverse aspects of my life. It is a staple of my podcast consumption.

Chris and his highly knowledgeable guests are making sociology fun again! The wide variety of topics they cover and the easy to digest way in which they deliver them had me hooked from my very first listen. They’re also personable and funny, which isn’t always easy to find in the Sociology world....Read full review »

Listened to the show on the Coddling of the American Mind. Nicely balanced & thought provoking. Good pace & no waffling.

Heterodox Academy has done a lot to broaden my horizons and introduce me to entire areas of academic research that were totally off my radar. Don't think of them as the "conservative" alternative to the academic Left; their members are all over the political spectrum, including lots...Read full review »

I have been following Heterodox Academy since its beginning and watch many of Prof Haidt's video's. So this podcast was missing! It is a much need addition to counter the regressive Left insanity at North American universities. Also a resource which introduces based academics. Thank You.Read full review »
