Francis Delmonico, MD, FACS, Professor of Surgery at Harvard University, gives an international perspective on the ethics of organ donation and transplantation. Organ transplantation raises almost every important medical ethical issue, including: standards for determining death, informed consent, the fair allocation of scarce resources, research on human subjects, global health concerns, and more.
