“Imagine if you were part of a family effected by one of the stories this show gleefully portrays. Now imagine how hard it would be to listen to any other podcast when this show is advertised on all of them with the first words “In 2004 (name) was brutally murdered in a small town”. It’s really messed up that they’re forcing people who are not just uninterested in ‘true crime’ but actually hurt by it to be exposed to this kind of content against their will. It’s insensitive bordering on pathological of the creators to force those words on others without their consent. If you’re going to cover stories about real human beings, how about you treat them as human. Not as some objects whose death you revel in. It’s really really not cool. If you’re into ‘true-crime’ that’s fine, but you should realize the -true- part means that real people suffered real things in these stories, and some people have to live the rest of their lives with that burden. Have some compassion!”
