I think all of these commenters who are upset with him should listen to “Community News” with Paul and Sasha, a comedy, faux local news podcast and just laugh and chill a little bit. I love these 2 podcasts. You don’t have to take EVERYTHING so seriously. Give the guy a break if you disagree with...Read full review »

It’s really an inconsiderate comment to compare coal mining jobs - solely on the numbers of people employed alone - to Arby’s. Good paying jobs are few and far between in Appalachian coal mining areas and those coal jobs are some of the only jobs that pay well. Thus the reason for the strong...Read full review »

Have always love Alec Baldwin and always respected his range, but who knew his range included keeping up with current events and could move an interview along with such alacrity? Sure, I recognize a lot of this can be editing, and if it is, big kudos to WNYC. Nonetheless, this is such an...Read full review »

I’ve just discovered podcasts - a little late to the party- and I’ve sampled the gamut - I actually found out about Alec’s podcast from listening to him on Justin Long’s podcast and I’m just so delighted. Excellent interviewer, so well informed about his guests and so generous, I cannot really...Read full review »

Did anyone listen to his post note about the Weinstein interview. This man is human and he can be conflicted about people and subjects. Especially when these are friends and associates. This would happen to anyone one with feelings and a heart. Alec is human, he does not walk on water. My god...Read full review »

This is my favourite podcast of all time. I came to the party late so have listened to the whole archive and it is life-enhancing. Alex has a voice, which is so harmonious and honeyed, I could listen to him all day (and often do). The content is enthralling and often a tough, but compelling,...Read full review »

Alec Baldwin needs to deal with his obvious skepticism about #MeToo in order for this podcast to be truly successful. He is a great interviewer and has the best voice on any podcast, but it’s frankly uncomfortable how out of touch he is with women’s experiences with sexual harassment. I’ve been a...Read full review »

In general, one of the most entertaining and well-done podcasts. Alec is an insightful interviewer, has great guests, and I learn from all these conversations. But. Please. I listened quite a lot a year or so ago, then unsubscribed as other podcasts were drawing my focus. Intrigued to see which guests were currently featured, I had a look today and found the Twohey and Kantor episode. Even if Baldwin doesn’t consider it one of his more successful interviews, I found...Read full review »

I’m about ready to cancel this podcast over Baldwin’s questioning of Weinstein’s guilt because of their “friendship”. I’m sure Weinstein has served Baldwin well in his career, and I highly suspect Baldwin of disrespecting women also for sexual exploitation.

So glad I discovered this. Great questions and great guests, and I was talking about non-celebrities. Your interview with Jodi Kantor and Meghan Touhey was disgraceful. You interrupted constantly, we’re extremely defensive, and clearly hadn’t done your homework, much less any personal reflection on the topic at hand. I’m cancelling my subscription now.

The diversity and range of people and subject matter on Here’s The Thing make it a class act. Alec Baldwin is one of the most articulate (and funniest) actors on the planet and as a host he brings an intellect and humanity which, in turn, brings out the best in his guests.
