“I wholeheartedly recommend the HerMoney with Jean Chatzky podcast to anyone who is willing to take ownership of her personal finances -- and have a good time doing it. In fact, I have already forwarded it to my mom, sister, and many other women I love.
As a young professional with an Economics degree from an Ivy League and a decent paying job, I've been strangely petrified and ignorant about my own money. Since stumbling on this podcast a month ago, though, I've listened to 10+ episodes and have already begun revolutionizing my relationship with money. I understand for the first time that managing my finances is actually a vital pillar of self-care. Plus, Jean makes this previously terrifying subject so approachable. Taking her advice, I figured out for the first time in my life what my actual take home pay is (as she said, making it granular and tactile -- annual, monthly, weekly, daily etc); looked at my credit report; requested and received a credit card limit increase to reach a <30% utilization rate (I pay the full balance every month) etc etc.
Listening to this podcast makes me feel a part of a community of women committed to personal and collective financial empowerment. As someone who loves podcasts, I have to say -- this is THE podcast to listen to, if you only listen to one.”Read full review »
