This sounds like lectures from a college course and is interesting if you’re looking for a history of children’s literature—you found it! Fun!

A good introduction to the roots and themes of children literature, with special attention to folk tales, fairy tales and myths. The professor mentions a series of interesting websites and bibliography where the student can find more information.

This course covers a broad history for the subject. Beginning with ancient myths and creation stories, the lectures bring up some interesting points in tying modern and ancient storytelling techniques. Very well worth listening to.

Beagley gives meaning to a genre of literature that is too often neglected. He speaks fluently and intelligently as he enchants the listener by revisiting all but lost's stories adding an abundance of detail that the typical adult overlooks.Read full review »

As a past student of David's I can see how the introduction of iTunes U would be an excellent inclusion in his lectures. David has so much to offer his students, and being able to listen to his lectures outside of the lecture hall is amazing!
