ENCORE 40. Our Lady of Guadalupe

ENCORE 40. Our Lady of Guadalupe

Like the Shroud of Turin, many claim that North America’s most venerated Christian relic holds a blessed and sacred image formed in 1531, a decade after the conquest of Mesoamerica by Spanish Conquistador Hernan Cortez. Known as the Virgin of Guadalupe this holy image on a cloak became a recognized symbol of Catholic Mexicans and is today enshrined within the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The basilica is the most-visited Catholic shrine on earth, and the world’s third most-visited sacred site. Guest podcaster Nathaniel Lloyd of the «Historical Blindness» podcast shares his telling of this incredible—and some believe—miraculous story! Enjoy this Encore Presentation!

EXTRA 3.0 The Lincoln Legacy (Presentation)

EXTRA 3.0 The Lincoln Legacy (Presentation)

Many of you have asked me to produce audio versions of each of the Denary Historical Books I have authored—a 10-volume international historical mystery and suspense thriller series titled Denary Novels. Since my Denary books are heavily immersed in history and connected with North America, I’ve decided to present the entire series in podcast form, for FREE. In other words, every episode designated with the word EXTRA is fully dedicated to the audio version of Denary Novels, starting of course, with the first book in the series. When one is finished, then I simply move on to the next Book. Those of you who are not fond of historical fiction, can simply skip these EXTRA episodes and continue enjoying my regular History of North America shows. I do, however, hope you will join or continue with me on this exciting literary adventure which continues with Book Three, titled The Lincoln Legacy.

Get FREE access to this novel’s accompanying visuals, including maps, charts, timelines, photos, illustrations, and diagrams at https://patreon.com/markvinet          Watch Book Three’s official Video trailer at https://youtu.be/jGmFXevUvRQ

    308. Wives for Crops

    308. Wives for Crops

In 1621 the Virginia Company of London recruited young women to become wives for the planters in its new colony in Jamestown. Though the women had all gone of their own free will, they were to be sold into marriage in exchange for tobacco leaves, generating a profit for investors and helping ensure the colony's long-term viability. Hopeful husbands were supposed to pay for their brides in tobacco. But who were the English women who made the Atlantic crossing? And what happened to them when they arrived?

Joseph Pascone ,

Great content!

Mark Vinet explores the history of North America through a unique lens; he has created an interesting and thoughtful show, which my partner and I both enjoy listening to. Great work!

RichAtThisAmericanPresident ,

Not afraid to take on the taboo topics

Mark Vinet’s podcast gives you an unvarnished look at the History of North America. He isn’t afraid to delve into the difficult topics, like slavery, but in an even-handed way.

Gamerathome ,

Suddenly political and far right

Episode 251 was the last straw. This podcast is very biased now. Leaving this dumpster fire before it gets worse
