Excellent Podcast! I’m really enjoying learning about history on trial. I’ve also been listening to Unsung History. The two tie in very nicely together.

My new favorite podcast. Mira’s voice is great, and the history stories are really good.

I’m new to listening to Podcasts, but with 3 hour commute, Mira’s work makes the drive easy. Her delivery is so compelling, I feel like she is telling ME the story, not broadcasting it to an audience. My only disappointment is that she only posts every other week. With the amount of research and...Read full review »

This is my favorite new podcast! Mira delivers fascinating historical stories and I learn so much with each episode! It’s like an audiobook that I can’t stop listening to. It would be nice if they came out weekly because two weeks is too long to wait!

Eh
Another leftist leaning history podcast, twisting history and current events to make them relate. Very slow paced, almost on the verge of boring because of the narrator. It’s a last resort in my opinion, unless I’m going to sleep.

I love this view of history from the trial perspective!! It is so interesting and very well done!!

Such a fascinating and interesting podcast. Mira Hayward is a skilled narrator. She also writes the narration. She has a talent for taking dry trial facts and weaving them into a compelling story. Not only do the facts become a story, but the characters come to life. She has a distinctive and...Read full review »

I’m really loving this new podcast. Every episode has been deeply interesting, well researched and well presented. I like the fact that she chooses trials that are not only interesting in and of themselves but also shine light on bigger issues and historical moments and movements.

This is obviously a very well-researched podcast but the music overwhelms it. Suggest using background music to highlight and dramatize key moments, instead of playing it throughout.

I was hooked after the Reuben Crandall episode! Great podcast that shows legal precedent for several of our nation’s biggest legal cases

If you like listening to 7th grade book reports, you’ll love this podcast

Did the narrator just state that Johnny Depp and O.J. Are the same? I love the legal part of this podcast but come on… the personal political insinuations are annoying!

Someone get the host a pop filter and vocal training. All the “pahh”s straight into the mic with breath noise and sentences ending in an inexplicable growl made it unlistenable for me. Other than that, good content. I’d love to listen after some appropriate vocal training and audio fine tuning.

The first two episodes are extraordinarily well told, well chosen, well written, analytical but not biased in any way. You should pitch this to American experience on PBS. You should produce it, write it and narrate it
peter gruenstein via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/23/24
Well told and the voice of the narrator is perfect

I really loved the first part of the story, but I turned it off about 15 minutes in. The background music was very distracting and unpleasant. I would love to continue listening to your podcast if you decide to create a version without the music. Thanks for considering my request!

I have to admit I kind of fell in love with Mira Hayward on Jeopardy and that led me here, but I was not disappointed. She is excellent at this and the podcast moves along well, with lots of interesting insight and depth. I look forward to her next episode!

Interesting and fast paced, but still very thorough. I’m kind of obsessed with Hamilton and Burr, but this definitely covered info I had never read. Looking forward to the next episode!

I honestly believe a good podcast or a great podcast for that matter starts with the voice of the podcaster (is that what they’re called 🤷🏽‍♀️) telling the story. Do they believe what they are telling? It could honestly make or break it. Can’t wait for the next episode!! Great job!

Wonderful!! Exactly what I would expect from Dana Shultz as producer. I love Nobel Blood. And this podcast combines all the great elements of that with a new subject matter. Looking forward to more episodes.

Mira reads well, and we know from Jeopardy that she is lovely. Her voice sometimes denigrates into a growl, but that is infrequent and not distracting. Her regional accent sometimes comes through as when she pronounces “jurors” as “jurors”. It’s difficult to tell whether she is saying Alma or...Read full review »

Thoroughly researched with engaging storytelling. Mira is so lovely to listen to and learn from. I especially loved the later portion about the larger societal implications of the case and the outcomes for those involved. Can’t wait for more!!

Can’t wait to listen to the rest of this. I don’t consider myself a history person, but I have a good feeling that I’m going to be so sucked in by this podcast. Narration is wonderful too! After listening to episode 1 I’m still madly in love with this podcast!

I was cooking dinner, and from the other room I heard her voice on Jeopardy. She mentioned this podcast, so hear I am. Not just her voice though, she is Harvard educated, and despite being a daughter of a state senator, she seems very humble and kind. Loved the first story, and look forward to...Read full review »
