Sorry but I’m not willing to pay to listen to a podcast. Isn’t that what the ads are for. Lord knows I have to hear enough of those on ALL wondery podcasts.

Bring your phone to me and I can come pick it out for her if she needs to go get her stuff or not and then I will pick it

I was fascinated and already plan on listening again from the beginning all the way back through. I am so curious about the talk blonde Elizabeth was last seen with, since it would appear she never came forward nor was ever identified. So many good and cohesive details maxed out. I revisit this...Read full review »

Tracy is GREAT as always - and voice actors are very good. As soon as the so-called experts come in after the first set of episodes is where it goes slightly awry. The gentleman is great but I find the other female to be completely nauseating. She completely disregards what Tracy says and is...Read full review »

Loved Tracy’s narration as always! Can’t believe I hadn’t known about this podcast!

Looking at the date on this Podcast, I ask myself how did I miss this expose? It is extremely well-done. I’ve read about 5 books on the Dahlia case, and I cannot fathom the crime. It was primitive, barbaric, ritualistic, satanic. 85% of the information on this Podcast, gathered from LE files...Read full review »

Why am I paying for still having adds? Must be a bad joke…. Otherwise interesting Real Detectives style podcast.

I was really excited about this podcast only to be disappointed with the fact I would have to pay $30 and some change just to listen To this one podcast by wondery. To be fair, the Black Dahlia serial killers podcast, from the two episodes I heard were fantastic. If you can spend the money I...Read full review »

Can you just release the episodes already
Lisett517 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/04/22
Enjoy the podcast but it shuts off 3 or 4 times every episode! Super annoying!!! Won’t turn back on without closing out the app and bringing it up again. All other podcasts work great. Just anything from Wondery!
Mann0331 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/27/22
A lot of assumptions in the story telling and the voice actors are hyperbolic
AudLawSan via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/19/21
Very rude that they give you the first few episodes and then you have to pay to hear the rest. Dirty trick. Won’t subscribe.
Alloverr13 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 10/13/21
I didn’t realize only the first 2 episodes would be available for free. I’ve listened to a couple Wondery podcasts and really enjoyed them. They were all available for free with ads. Now I have to subscribe in order to listen to the rest? Don’t even give an option? Wish I knew this before...Read full review »

Overly overdramatized. Just tell the story.

This is my favourite podcast of all time. I am listening to it again. Love tracys story telling abilities. She has a great voice. It’s like listening to a tv series. Please hurry up and make a new podcast! I’ve listened to everything you’ve made!!!!

Lame, cheesy and overdramatized.
twindaddy05 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/07/21
I normally like the dramatization series that Wondery puts out like American history tellers & others. But this one is a bit cheesy at times with the voice actors and some of the music riffs are a bit much, but still told well! The writing is novel-like, so it feels like a dramatized audio...Read full review »

Great podcast but why have all the episodes from Episode 3 now disappeared? Please advise - thanks
Agatha 1234 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/09/21
Not worth the listen considering you only get to hear 1/18th of the story before they tell you to subscribe to another podcast service.

This is a brilliant podcast well written and narrated. Really interesting. I hit the subscribe button 5 mins into the first episode. I never knew about these murders and the possible connection to The Black Dahlia murder. I honestly just can’t fault this, I throughly enjoyed every minute.

I love how this podcast keeps you interested by acting actors on the podcast. Really keeps me intrigued. Love this podcast and hope they bring more back. :)

FACT-CHECK: Kamala is not African-American. Also, one star for going political and involving ridiculous liberalism.
ProtestPedophiliaInstead via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 11/24/20
I could do without the voice acting in these... it’s super hokey and at times offensive. Unnecessary at best it really detracts from what would otherwise be an excellently researched podcast. This goes for all of their other podcasts I’m afraid

I’m so sad I finished this podcast story. It was so good. I feel like nothing compares to it at this point. So so so intriguing and well done.

i really liked this podcast and would give it five stars if it wasn’t for the voice acting and re-enactments. in episode two they re-enact the rape and murder of georgette bauerdorf and it is disgusting, violent, and triggering. it’s completely unnecessary and never should have been put in, or at...Read full review »

I started listening to this podcast recently and liked it until I got to episode 2. They use voice actors to reenact the sexual assault and murder of Georgette. There is no reason at all to include this audio for anything but shock value. It was extremely triggering and upsetting. I listen to...Read full review »

This is a great podcast but there’s an ad every five minutes. The same 3 ads run through every show and it is incredibly frustrating and annoying. You just get right into the story and there’s yet ANOTHER ad playing.

Really enjoyed this immensely can’t praise it enough . Tracy Pattin is superb as always also everyone invoked in telling this story. Found this so interesting.

Overall I thought it was interesting. I’d never really heard of all those murders. But after a while, I got confused as to what was happening with each victim with each man interviewed and which case they’d been a person of interest.
LADH via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/03/20
Meh
If you’re looking for mediocre radio theatre, this may be the podcast for you. If you’re looking for true crime without the crisp, awkward reenactments complete with stock foley, look elsewhere.

I love all the Wondery Podcasts. It is so nice to put my headphones in, relax and take a journey into the unknown with the Wondery team. At first I saw the negative reviews and thought, i would listen for myself, I am so happy I did. It’s a fantastic podcast!

I love Wondery podcasts and I have been thinking of purchasing a subscription to Wondery Plus. After I finished The Wonderland Murders, I was eager to give The Black Dahlia a listen. A competitive re telling of the summer of 69.
mumscupofplonk via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 05/12/20
Not a fan of reenactments, but the podcast takes into consideration perspectives which are not usually addressed. While I wasn’t entertained by this podcast in particular, I highly recommend others made by Wondery.
