Best Podcast Ever!
This divine food-centered podcast featuring Sami and Hirikesh is like a an old friendsship thst is both comfortable, fun, and endearing. Sami is nearly irrepressibly cheerful, though candid and genuine in the face of the pandemic, the accompanying challenges, and the loss of Hirikesh’s mother deep into the show. She utilizes her diverse knowledge of cuisines and culture, including her own experiences from her Iranian (previously described as Persian and as an IranianAmerican. She is worldly and knowledgeable with a refreshing respect for the multicultural experiences and cuisines she has explored. Though her goodwill and brightness is the best part of the series. Hirikesh is a professional musician and podcaster about music, but is in a constant search for food and eating tips to improve his frequently vegan and vegetarian cuisine. He is probably a step above the most novice cook in experience, but clearly appreciates good food and the labor necessary to create it. He is Indian-American (I am unsure of the region) and his father, a retired food scientist, is an occasional charming guest on the show. The stories the hosts share about their families and the food they grew up with makes you feel as if you were sitting with them at a kitchen table, sharing a meal. This is a welcoming, generally cheerful podcast that I’ve returned to multiple times in search of comfort. Highly recommended.
