Ritchie McDonald joins Chris for this episode of the Houndsman XP Podcast. Ritchie has taken multiple Blueticks deep into the finals of the World Championship and other major events. He knows what a coondog is and settles for nothing less. Ritchie and Chris cover a lot of ground in this one; they talk about Ritchie’s beginnings in Louisiana, great dogs of the past, the current state of the Bluetick breed and what it takes to have top hounds and Run with the Big Dogs.

Josh Neff spent the first 20 plus years of his life with very different opinions of hunting that that of what he has now. Growing up as main stream American kid with all of the influences that seem to be against hunting, in the epicenters of the environmental anti hunting movement. As a college student, Josh was challenged to dive into a project that challenged his moral code and core beliefs. What happened next was amazing. He began to understand the misrepresentation of hunting by media and our culture. At age 30, Josh has been hunting lions and bobcats for five year. He has travelled around the world to hunt. He has imported his own Heideterriers to hunt coyotes and other predators with. Josh has completely switched sides and sees the opportunity to represent hunting and Houndsmen in way that only a select few could. His influence reaches those that are out of our grasps houndsmen.

Chris tracked down the original owner of the one and only Slife’s Blue Rambo. David Slife of Iowa acquired a bluetick puppy at 6 weeks old. David raised and trained this puppy that would one day become one of the most well known stud dogs of the bluetick breed. Chris and Dave look at the breeding behind Rambo, how he was started by David, his attributes and accomplishments. David had no big ambitions with Rambo; he just wanted a great coondog.
