I’ve only recently discovered this podcast, and it is absolutely my favourite!! I’m already dreading getting through the episodes so quickly that I’ll soon run out! I love the opening chat just between Elis and John as they describe their past week/current mood, they really make each other laugh...Read full review »

What an amazing Podcast ‘How Do You Cope.’ Is. You are both such skilful listeners enabling your guests to share their stories in a save space. Your empathy and genuine interest shine through. So different from your Friday Podcast, which I also love to listen to. Long may you both flourish....Read full review »

Hello. Thank you for having Jordan on discussing Jordan’s sexuality and identity journey. BUT I do wish younger presenters would challenge opinions about gender and sexuality as you assume everything that Jordan commented on was correct. Women’s spaces should be for biological females to be...Read full review »

Regarding Lady Unchained. Why are you promoting this convicted violent thug who’s only thoughts are about how she is the victim. I would have thought a better episode would have been with the victims of grievous bodily harm she put them through.

Thank you both, what a podcast. To be able to turn your brand of comedy into such a positive experience is truly remarkable and something to be so so proud of.

Could listen to John and Elis talk about their “shame” all day. Love them, love how they talk to eachother and love how relatable and comforting I find it. Plus they’re fab interviewers, letting guests speak without interrupting and also bringing up such interesting and important topics for...Read full review »

The whole series is excellent. John and Elis discuss difficult subjects with their guests in a emotionally intelligent way However the first episode of the new series was mainly a Beautiful and informative discussion of Johns journey over the past year. Sensitively handled by Elis as well. It...Read full review »

Two thoroughly decent and kind human beings actually listening and engaging with the people they talk to. Shouldn’t be rare or special, but everything Elis and John donis

Quite simply excellent. Serious, funny, enlightening, vulnerable. It’s a pleasure to listen and relate to how the hosts and guests “cope.” Also confirmation that success and wealth doesn’t necessarily buy positive mental health. Thank you. Keep going!

The interviews with the guests are good. Just skip the intros as Elis just talks about Covid non stop or his knee and John is possibly the most miserable man. He regularly brings the mood down even though 9/10 guests have been through far worse than a break up or craving fags. He could learn a...Read full review »

Having listened to Elis and John for years, HDYC is a different realm but the same enchanting vibe from the boys. I love the way they let their guests talk without interruption. When there is a natural lull, they ask the perfect question. As a mental health sufferer it’s really interesting to hear other people’s struggles and how they coped. I love it. Please let there be another series

I’ve just listened to the interview with Chris Packham, absolutely brilliant. It went to quickly I could have easily listened to more. He is so articulate and explained everything so well. All guests appear to be handled with such respect, genuine curiosity & care, I have enjoyed these podcasts so much - they are beautifully done. The Michael Rosen one in particular is wonderful, the boys really let their guests talk.

I’ve only recently discovered Elis and John’s podcast and am gobbling up both series at the point at which we’ve just gone into a third lockdown in the UK. A brilliant show where the guests are allowed to breathe and share in detail their story with us. The hosts provide exactly the right level of empathy without coming across as patronising or condescending. Recommended highly.

Robins and James approach their interviewees’ problems with intelligence, humour and sensitivity. The Michael Rosen and Josie Long conversations were particularly good listens.

I found this podcast while doing some DIY. I was trying to do a scribe joint on my skirting board instead of the regular mitre joint method. Both John and Ellis have soothing voices and very pleasant to listen to; it’s funny, yes, but the thing I enjoy most is the well thought out questions and the responsive tone of the conversations. I’ve been binge-listening these and they feel very pertinent in these unpredictable times.

An incredible series of thought provoking podcasts Quite literally, and empirically, the funniest radio DJs on UK radio. Doing things a little more serious with wit, charm, shame and sympathy.
