Doing life without alcohol with Matt from Perth
Listen now
Description
In this episode I catch up with one of the HIQA Grads, Matt from Perth.  Matt has been sober for just over 12 months after joining the HIQA 3 month challenge back in July 21.   Matt always said he could never imagine a life without alcohol but is now thriving in sobriety and life is better than he ever imagined.   As a heavy binge drinker, Matt would often have blackouts that leave him feeling shame, embarrassment, guilt and anxiety the next day.   We talk about blackouts, imaging a life without alcohol, what books he has found helpful, the tools that have kept him going, the importance of a gratitude practice, playing the tape backward to your last worst binge to keep you on track and how cultivating self awareness has been so transformative. The books mentioned in this episode are: The Untethered Soul - Michael Singer Living Untethered - Michael Singer Loving What Is - Byron Katie The Power Of Now - Ekhart Tolle For more resources go or to join the next HIQA challenge go to www.iquitalcohol.com.au Follow HIQA insta @howiquitalcohol  Music for Monday Distillery ads by Ash Grunwald www.ashgrunwald.com Music for Podcast intro and outro written by Danni Carr performed by Mr Cassidy If you are struggling with physical dependancy on alcohol consider contacting a local AA meeting or a drug and alcohol therapist.   Always consult a GP before stopping alcohol.
