Shirley Kemp
Cried all the way through that. I was a disconnected teenager who first felt something after listening to wham in the 80s none of the other bands quite did it for me in the same way. I didn’t think about it at the time, but now it makes sense that the beautiful souls that went into creating that amazing sound and image were even more beautiful people than I could’ve realised. I absolutely loved hearing Shirley’s story, so special and wonderful. For some reason I’d always imagined her dancing in her front room teaching herself to dance, because she looked so cool and it sounds like that’s what happened. No fails there, intelligent and soulful beautiful lady!

More reviews of How To Fail With Elizabeth Day
I have subscribed to several podcasts but don’t normally listen to every episode. How to Fail is an exception. I love the heart-to-heart conversations between Elizabeth and her accomplished guests about failing gloriously. It’s all very inspiring!

Enjoyed series 1 but series 2 is another level! All have been fabulous but Alastair Campbell really stood out. Elizabeth such a great interviewer.

Brilliant concept for a podcast, shame Sebastian Faulks was almost satirical in his utter lack of self deprecation and acceptance of his own failings. Dolly and Phoebe were excellent.
