I started listening to this podcast a while back because it was filled with interesting, thought-provoking dialogue on cultural and sociological topics. As time has gone on, however, it’s become more and more elitist and out of touch fluff that bores me to tears and makes me switch off. This...Read full review »

Great show. I learn so much every week. I am a cis straight male to whom the show lends much needed perspective. They’ve also reworked the ads so they’re less intrusive.

I enjoy this podcast, in particular a few of the regular guests. I am on the same page as these women politically, but it must be said: Alyssa can be excruciatingly self righteous and Erin says sooooo many things that are incredibly annoying/privileged sounding and seems to have no self awareness...Read full review »

I really like this podcast, which is a look at the day’s news and politics from women’s perspective. The hosts are smart and savvy and very funny women, and they give me (a total dude) useful insight into how the other half views the world. It’s a ton of fun.

This is one of the best podcast out there. Goes over the news, important topics, and is petty all at the same time. Just what American women (men and others too) need at a time where it can be difficult to listen to the news.

Srsly, just listen. They are the best!

Also love the Petty Brew coffee that came with my sweatshirt order… how do I order more?

It's great. Just subbed. Would love to hear you bring on "Sasha" from Community News with Paul and Sasha. She's a comedian and TV producer and would fit in perfectly on your show. Meanwhile, keep up the good work. Going to listen to more.Read full review »

I though this sounded interesting, but when I heard the lump Nate Silver in with Tucker Carlson as “toxic media men” I realized there’s nothing here but facile snarkiness.

Love the show, but please stop advertising Lume deodorant. The brand makes money off of body shaming people, particular women. Nope.

I’ve listened to this podcast since day one. I’ve loved the conversations, the guests, and believe this podcast helped my survive the Trump presidency. That being said, the latest episode felt like a classiest take on tools people are trying to use to be better humans and protect themselves. I...Read full review »

There are literally 15-20min of ads per episode. It feels like something they would complain about on their podcast if they had to deal with it in real life.

WAY too many ads. Getting hard to stay with it.

Loveee the podcast, hosts and all the guests. But the second Julissa Arce comes on I get annoyed. She makes it a point to always make the conversation about race. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Hispanic woman and have dealt with my fair share of injustices because of race. I know that it is very...Read full review »

This is one of my favorite Crooked Media podcasts. I listen every week and find the conversations highly insightful and eye-opening. Erin and Alyssa practically feel like good friends I look forward to hearing from each week. Their vibe is very cool and casual, so the material is probably...Read full review »

I’ve been listening for along time. This is the one podcast I never ever miss. Always learn something new while getting a few laughs too. Even though I’m only listening I always feel like I’m right there with them. FYI I’ll be 70 in May. I tell you this to let you know you are reaching...Read full review »

I want to hear smart women talk current affairs. The random topics are nice for brevity but I’d like more substance. Also exactly how many ads do they think women have time to listen to? Getting carpel tunnel from skipping.

I really appreciated your discussion on collective grief. So helpful to me to during this tumultuous time here and around the world. Your thoughts resonated so much with how I have been feeling. Thank you.

3-4 minutes of ads at a time? Eeks you are doing yourselves and your advertisers no favors. Ease up, better for everyone.
huron94 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/16/23
I love you guys but the ads have gotten out of control. There were almost 15 minutes worth of them in today’s episode. I’ve started skipping through them all because it’s too much.
Shannanagin via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 02/10/23
Every episode always features some story or conversation in the news or on social media that wasn’t on my radar. The topics for discussion are really unusual and entertaining. I do wonder whether having a show that’s all women talking about women’s issues in addition to politics is a bit of a...Read full review »

I’ve been a listener for years but the amount of adds the show has now makes it almost unlistenable. It really feels like the whole show is straight adds!

four minute pre roll is EGREGIOUS - i say this as a paid media professional. i’m begging you, cut down your ad read lengths. please. i cant imagine your advertisers are seeing good ROI when listeners ffwd through the ads because they’re too long.

Ads
A lot more 5+ minutes of ads recently. The episodes have 15 minutes of ads now. I love the show but this has been a noticed change.

This is a great pod and I’ve been listening for years now (starting with the trauma bonding of 2020). I mostly enjoy this pod, except for the fact that they start every single episode with MINUTES of ads. Up to 3 minutes. Is that really necessary?? I have to start the pod by hitting the fast...Read full review »

As a dude this podcast is great exposure to the viewpoint and world experience of some very intelligent women. Talking to women one on one does not compare to listening to women discussing things amongst each other unfiltered. Besides that, the hosts are smart, funny and fun to listen to.
robbyrob89 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/24/23
The editing has been pretty poor lately. Comments being cut off, then previous comments being replayed. The ads have also gotten super long.

I never miss this podcast. And I mean, never. Erin and Alyssa are the pals I want to hear chatting it up about women’s issues, politics, and serious and unserious things every week. Regarding Prince Harry, I don’t think they were searching for privacy, but desire their family to defend them and not tell lies. This is what started the whole ugly mess. I agree he will never be able to go back. And stop talking about your family.

Given that this podcast isn’t edited, sometimes the extra fluff of extraneous conversation that can make the show over almost two hours long can get tiring. Wish there was slightly more structure in the program and less rambling. Everyone is so smart so I always appreciate commentary and analysis...Read full review »

Update: There is no reason each episode of this pod should be more than an hour long. The news portion up front is just a rehash of every big news item we’ve all already heard about ad nauseum by the time the episode airs. Then I usually just fast forward through the middle, i.e, whatever...Read full review »

My new favorite thing to indulge in. I’m 4 years late and it’s so exciting to have so much amazing content to listen to. I refer to this show as “my girls” often. It’s truly a bee in my bonnet that everyone on the show doesn’t live on my street.

Because I’m not in Twitter I just wanna share that the flute that Lizzie played belonged to James Madison NOT John Adams. John Adams was NOT a slave owner. Okay love u bye.

This podcast is my sanity corner and I feel petty that it’s only once a week!! I have been listening to Hysteria since episode one when Erin was in NY. I am likely not the target audience. A 44 year old white guy who drives a long haul truck.
