Fatphobia and pregnancy
Yikes. There should have been a warning on their recent podcast about pregnancy. Complaining about how pregnancy changes your body and how parts of your body grow and change should not have included so many definitions of “normal” implying being “smaller”. They complained about how finding larger bras means they look “industrial” and how they are “hard to find” which is walking straight into the point of living in a larger body and missing the point: larger bodies are marginalized. You don’t need to rationalize changing size by saying “well it’s okay because you grew a body in there.” What about people who change size and haven’t grown a human? What are you implying? There’s nothing wrong with being uncomfortable with change - but is that rooted in your fatphobia? Why wasn’t that mentioned? What about breaking down that barrier instead of delineating who “has an excuse” to change size, and who doesn’t?
