“This podcast is my happy place. I have been obsessed with Gilmore Girls for many, many years [my daughter’s name is Rori - top that my fellow Gilmore Girls fans!] and have watched it bunches of times, like so many others here. I could never really get into podcasts, but I came across this podcast somehow and now I am hooked to my podcast app.
I started from the very beginning and am listening to every single episode. I laugh, I smile, I nod, I ponder through every single episode. When I first found it and read the reviews and critiques against it, I basically laughed to myself. Everything people criticize are the things I love about this show! I love how they talk over each other and get passionate about it and have opinions and dig into character’s motivation and feelings. I love the perspectives Amy or Scott have on a character or episode, whether I agree or not, and I love that they can make me see a show that I know every inch of from a new angle.
I enjoy Amy’s passion and excitement and her great laugh!! I love Scott’s humor, his perspective watching this as a parent himself, his emotional depth, and his immense kindness and warmth for everyone who comes on the show and everyone he talks about that he has worked with or who he respects in the field. I think he exemplifies someone who truly believes in and enjoys their craft to the point that he can praise others so genuinely. He doesn’t put people in a hierarchy of fame [as it’s easy to do as someone who is not in hollywood], but just celebrates people for their real talent and hard work and that shows with everyone he talks to and talks about.
I also laugh and smile every time you guys talk about reading the reviews. I think you have an incredibly healthy and wonderful way of processing critique - your ability to joke and also care about what the fans have to say is great. Really, you’re knocking it out of the park. I know you care about the fan’s critiques, but from this fan, don’t change a thing. I love the rambliness, the passionate monologues, the differing perspectives, the excited interjections, I love every minute of it. Have I said “I love” often enough in this review?
Thank you guys for doing this. It brings me so much joy, I cannot express to you how grateful I am for such a genuine, lovely, happy thing in my life on any kind of week. I already can’t wait for the next time I get to press “play”. 🤍”
