Lives up to its promise
One might worry that an attempt to make a Star Trek comedy riff would involve all sorts of esoteric in-jokes and cornball fan "humor" that boils down to, "Hey, remember that time Kirk did this?" Thankfully, this is not the case, as the Chicago-based crew of improvisers that make this program are committed primarily to being funny and to embodying their twisted, fascinating characters, which is the only way to do this in a tolerable way, and given their evident talent it works extremely well. The jokes here aren't confined to Star Trek and spoof all kinds of science-fiction and pop-culture tropes, even Taylor Swift of all things, and considering that the original series notoriously aped '60s pop culture and even featured space hippies (!) the joke is appreciated. Not a heavy continuity sort of thing, I'd recommend trying the episode "Cha'rles in Charge" to see if you have the feel for it, it's one of their very best.Read full review »

I. Love. This. Podcast. I laugh out loud during every episode, regardless of where I am. People look at me weird, but I don't care. Keep 'em comin' - the crew of the Sisyphus is absolutely hilarious.Read full review »
