Mia opens up to us about the process of coming into her own authenticity, the scared feeling in anticipation of how certain family and friends would react, and the differences she encountered between her expectations and the reality of the entire experience. She also talks about how difficult this process would have been in her intolerant home town in comparison to here in L.A. and her take on the emotional intelligence of children in making gender identity based decisions.
