“I listened to this episode with a lot of interest. And what it revealed more than anything, is what was mentioned in another episode on race. The miseducation of the typical British person. Specifically, white male. The ignorance was astounding. In discussing meritocracy, this guy did not once, not once, mention the role that race and gender have played in making meritocracy a joke. His entire view is white male privileged and he cannot conceive of a world beyond that. So it’s all erased by him. Shallow and very disappointing.
