ignore the “PC police” reviews
so many reviews focus on men being able to be sexually assaulted- that has no bearing on this case whatsoever. what has the PC brigade is confused is the narrator is doing what journalists are supposed to do, but rarely do any more: challenge their interviewee and remain skeptical while trying to get to the truth. the narrator doesn’t claim men can’t be victims, but he is justified in being skeptical of a story where a man sneaks out of a window of his home, willingly takes the woman’s calls, goes on romantic getaways and goes to his lovers home for three years (!) and then claims he did so bc he was “manipulated” into sex. Ig (the main male character in this story) doesn’t even claim he was sexually assaulted.
