Sensationalism
Thus far, the podcast does not get beyond the sensationalism of the crimes. Instead of investigating the criminal’s psychology, the narration is highly moralizing (e.g., words like “shocking” and “despicable”), which perpetuates the myth of the murderer as pure evil. A good series should not just shock us but attempt to grasp the subject’s inner motivations, however distorted they may appear to us.
