Watch the anachronisms
I came here from The Last Archive and was impressed (that was the Stonehenge episode). I have one point of order, though: there was a nice dig at Nigel Farage at the end, BUT: if you’re going to be talking about who lived in what’s now Britain 6000 years ago, you ought to also do the same for Asia Minor. And there were zero Turks there then. Perhaps zero “Turks” anywhere that long ago, just like zero Angles or Saxons. But it doesn’t take ancient DNA to know that Turks left the western end of Mongolia about 1400 years ago. So let’s be consistent, OK? Even though it ruins the quip against Farage. Migration has been a human trait everywhere.

A podcast about opposites, big questions, and history. Suggested episode: The Guru of Ojai. Kunzru's laidback delivery is nicely matched with well crafted storytelling. Weaves in family history, wild and weird mysticism, and good humoured skepticism.Read full review »

Consistently surprising, full of juxtapositions, associations, and collisions of ideas that make the brain come alive.
