“Great overall podcast. My only beef is the anti trump bias in particular. (And no, I don’t like trump either). This is a history podcast. Best to let the speech of morons “speak” for themselves.”

“When you have to invoke Trump in a podcast about Reagan it’s ridiculous. Keep this history & not political. We definite know when h say the makers of this podcast lean. I don’t want to know this! I want learn about great speeches without partisanship!!”

“I just wanted you to thank you, John Meacham, and your team for all of your hard work in this treasure of a podcast. In today’s coarse world, your episodes have lifted me up and often moved me near to tears (“I’m not crying. You’re crying.”) Yes, you have great material to work with, but your...”Read full review »

“This podcast reminded me to be even more aware of words and their impact in moments. When events and words collide like they do in the moments review here by Dr Meacham, and when there is a highlight from a historian of Dr Meacham’s caliber, transformation in my soul happens. Thank you for giving...”Read full review »

“I’ve heard snippets of many of these speeches, but have not heard the context, history, and the way they changed the world. Thank you for these inspiring speeches and the stories behind them. Fantastic storytelling style. Love this.”

“I was hesitant to add this podcast when I saw the history channel stamp because I've seen their leftist bias in their other history programs but I thought maybe there's a chance you were a true historian instead of a political hack. I was disappointed to hear your bias in the very first...”Read full review »

“If the speeches are powerful they don’t need music under. It reminds me of Trump‘a latest attempts to manipulate his followers with music under his rantings.”

“One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to and I listen to many. Historical perspective on the great speeches not just the words but the motivation and also often the contradictions of the person making the speech.”

“My belief, you give Reagan too much credit. He was barely a good actor in the end, he was a racist, misogynistic, homophobic, narcissist, antisemite moron comedian. We all love a good comedian. He propelled the decline of the Republican Party and worse the rise of white nationalist...”Read full review »
