“I subscribed to this podcast a few weeks ago and had been enjoying it until yesterday until the end of the episode when I heard the incredibly tone deaf comments of the guests, Amber and Lacey. The criticism leveled against Jennifer Lopez and her inaugural performance left me dumbfounded. There are more than 40 million Spanish-speaking people in the United States, plus millions more who have studied Spanish, educated citizens who actually speak multiple languages. The guests’ comments such as “Who knows what she was saying?” and “I didn’t care for it at all except I know America didn’t like her brown face up there”. Oh yes, and the comparison of “This Land is Your Land” to the “Itsy Bitsy Spider”. All this on a podcast whose theme was the insensitive racist comments that white people make to black people. I guess insensitivity only applies when it’s your own group. For the record, bilingual Americans like me DID know what JLo was saying: it was the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
Get a clue, Sam.”
