The Grooten family has been a part of New Zealand's FMCG market over the last 40 years, founding and running Dad's Pies and The Baker's Son. Tom and Ben, as General Manager and Sales Manager respectively, have had an active role in the company for over 8 years. With over 140 employees, the company and Grootens have achieved a lot for their community over last 40 years. In this episode, we chat about:  Tom and Ben's personal money habits, growing up as first generation New Zealanders, with two very Dutch parents,some of the challenges and successes in creating such a business,teaching kids about money and investing,continuing the legacy of a successful family business, how they encourage and support their employee wellbeing,  their views on success and how this is reflected in much more than simply a balance sheet.…and lots more good stuff.
