Thank you, J. for always sharing your humility with grace. You help us feel like we’re really all on this journey together, even though we have our own paths to walk–and sometimes that path is muddy, or rocky. You listen to others perspectives with sincere openness; sometimes pushing back,...Read full review »

Do not listen to this terrible podcast - J Brown clearly has massive insecurity complexes and cannot stay on point while interviewing his subjects but rather constantly self references and compares his own teaching to his guests who are more accomplished than he is. Additionally he is terribly...Read full review »

Another disappointing yoga “person” disguising himself as “just asking questions” while promoting conspiracist anti vaccine propaganda in the middle of a pandemic. I have been listening to J’s podcast for years and it’s honestly one of my favourites. I look forward to new episodes on Mondays and have always felt that his sincerity with regards to yoga practice and genuine interest for his guests shines through. I have also appreciated his raw honesty...Read full review »

OMG, J!! What a wise daughters you have. I am a long time listener and remember the Roslyn’s episode five years ago. Thank you for sharing the love. This episode just kept me smile on my face and definitely feeling warmth 🥰

I am glad this podcast is out there. The guests bring a unique view to the table, and there isn’t anything wrong with respectfully listening views one may not agree with.

I rather enjoyed the episode with Katchie. But I’m not emotionally invested in the topic, so I was able to listen intellectually and really consider her points. Clearly the problem is that in 2021 free speech is in jeopardy—that’s the broader issue that those of us over 50 took for granted until...Read full review »

I was hesitant to give more than 3 stars because mr brown seems very agreeable with whatever guest he has on. But I was happy to hear him stand his ground. It’s funny how Jessie projects the use of fear tactics by the opposing side when fully willing to do the same. “You want bad science on your...Read full review »

I am the mother of a transgendered 11-year-old. I was introduced to this podcast because of that. I am also a yoga teacher of 20 years. I thought it was very enlightening to hear the podcast of an opposing opinion especially from a long time yoga teacher. I did not have to agree but it was...Read full review »

On this week’s episode (4/5) on gender issues, J said in the outro that he’s learned his lesson about how to handle this topic. But has he? He admitted that he had no contact with the guest beforehand, and that the guest was previously unknown to him and had sent him an email offering to come on...Read full review »

Use to really enjoy this podcast, but it’s taken a weird turn. Transphobic guests, and then J doubling down on the rhetoric on his weekly Teachers call was cringy. There are better podcasts for actually learning about yoga, and improving yourself as an instructor. This podcast has gotten more...Read full review »

J. has no business calling himself a yoga teacher if he’s going to release such hateful, transphobic content into the world and then gaslight the people he’s harmed. There are other great yoga podcasts out there, and I’d encourage you to check them out and skip on this one.

UNBELIEVABLE, harmful, transphobic, ridiculous, political innuendos by both the guest and the host. Don’t bother watching and giving attention to this garbage. If I could give .25 of a star I would.

The episode with Katchie Ananda was grossly uninformed and harmful. First of all, Katchie, a cisgendered person, should not be the one speaking about this. Plus, she’s severely misinformed on even the base level of what it means to be trans. This is an appalling episode. Harmful to trans folks.
divinelyhuman via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/29/21
I can’t even believe this episode aired. As a yoga teacher, you had a platform of unity and peace to uphold, and you have failed miserably. This is spreading hate and misinformation. Appalling.

Completely appalled by the conversation with J. Brown + Katchie Ananda. Irresponsible. Harmful. Misinformed. And this type of cisgendered, privileged narrative is the type of dialogue that makes people feel it is OKAY to harm and take trans lives. Privileged. Pretentious. Hurtful. Please do better.

This podcast episode contains a transphobic, harmful perspective and conversation and should be removed. J Brown, you need some serious education; try GLAAD or GLSEN and start doing some reading. It is extremely damaging and incorrect to conflate these ideas with yoga.
