“I discovered JBR about two years ago and was amazed to find people with FAR more Bond depth than I had. I’ve gone back and listened to most at this point.
The enjoyment I get out of hearing enthusiastic and knowledgeable fans discuss the films and books is great, whether I agree with their opinions or not. The casts have encouraged me to go back and rewatch/reread with a more attentive eye.
Not every episode is for me (talking to you, Watches of Bond!) but there are others I’ve listened to multiple times. And there are some unexpected jewels, like the interview with Bruce Glover.
The best discussions are those where there is real passion (Die Another Day review still puts me on the floor!). Sure they get a little raucous but that’s part of the fun. (That’s what the “explicit” ranking means…) The world’s an ugly place at times and if I can get a little bit of joy from an off color discussion, I think that’s ok.
