Description
Rep. Bryan Steil breaks down his investigation into the financial practices of PAC ‘ActBlue’ and discusses his goal of ensuring that the US has actually a full, secure financial system inside donations to politicians across the country. The Wisconsin Congressman reveals that through the course of his probe a concerning trend of the use of “straw donors” has been found. “The concern that I've identified is, is someone making donations in your name to Democrats across the country, but then paying it with their money. That's money laundering, that's identity theft, that's illegal, but the lax financial practices of some of these online donor portals allow that to be an abuse that could be occurring and could be occurring at a large scale. This is where our investigation went in and determined that there is a large number of anomalies in these donations.” See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
